Listening to music in the office can increase productivity, a new study has revealed, with nine out of ten workers found to be more efficient while jamming out to tunes on the job.

In light of the MusicWorks findings we asked you, our Metro.co.uk readers, to tell us your all-time favourite song to listen to at work in a bid to create the most productivity-enhancing playlist ever.

Unsurprisingly, we’ve been left with the most bizarre collection of tracks, making for a very interesting listen.

Turns out you lot love a work-themed work track, with Dolly Parton’s Nine to Five by far the most popular choice. Kelly Rowland’s Work and Britney Spears’ Work B**** were also firm favourites.

There really is nothing like being reminded you’re at work when you’re working, apparently.

On a more sombre (or perhaps worrying?) note Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now by The Smiths, Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit and Take This Job And Shove It by Johnny Paycheck made the cut.

Gary Numan’s dog Wilbur suggested listening to Love Hurt Bleed by Gary Numan but admitted he was biased because he gets a biscuit every time his owner’s songs are played. True story.

Above all, you lovely lot told us you use music to vent frustrations and drown out irritating colleagues.

So behold the best of a very varied bunch…

And remember keep your suggestions coming in the comments below or tweet your favourite track to @Metro_Ents with the hashtag #WorkSongs.
