Arsenal are ready to make a January move for Ipswich youngster Tyrone Mings, according to reports.
Chelsea are believed to have already lined up the defender as a replacement for 33-year-old captain John Terry, who is out of contract with the Blues in the summer.
But Arsenal and Manchester United have also shown interest in the 21-year-old and according to the Mirror, the Gunners will make a bid when the transfer window reopens in an attempt to steal a march on their rivals.
Mings currently plays as a left-back for the Tractor Boys, but at 6ft 3in several Premier League clubs are eyeing him as a future centre-half.
Arsenal scouts have been to watch Mings on several occasions this season and he has impressed sufficiently for the Gunners to make their interest concrete.
