Many would be planning shark recipes after getting bitten by one the beasts but this 13-year-old girl said she understood the actions of the creature.
Kirra-Belle Olsson had a slightly different take on things after nearly being killed while surfing near Avoca Beach, Australia.
‘It’s their home, they’re only doing what they do every day,’ she told the Daily Telegraph.
‘It’s not like they say, “there’s a person, I’m going to eat it”.’
She previously described how the wobbegong shark had crept up on her.
‘I took the wave and then I twice felt something grab my foot, and I thought it was a mate behind me trying to scare me,’ she added.
‘Then the third time it [the shark] swung me around and tried to pull me under.
‘I saw the tail and I was just like, “whoa,” and I didn’t know what to do, so I just started screaming.’
Thankfully she’s now recovering following an operation on her leg and ankle.
As for the shark, we don’t know where he is so we can’t tell him he’s been forgiven.
