Ed Sheeran has hit back after Isle Of Wight Festival organiser John Giddings said festivals were doomed now that the ‘boring’ singer-songwriter is widely considered headline material.
Speaking at the Live UK Summit 2014 panel last week, an event dedicated to supporting the live music industry, Giddings admitted that the music industry is failing to produce new, big acts.
‘We’re not building headliners any more,’ he said, according to Virtual Festivals.
‘And if boring acts like Ed Sheeran are the future then we’re all screwed.’
And Ed, 23, was very displeased by the jibe, especially because he had already been approached to perform at the Isle Of Wight Festival next year.
Responding to the comment, the Afire Love singer tweeted: ‘He asked me to do the festival next year a few weeks ago funnily enough and I couldn’t do it due to another gig.’
Ha! Who knew Ed could be so sexy and confrontational, eh?!
And here’s the boring video for Ed’s latest single Thinking Out Loud which, bizarrely, has clocked up almost 13 MILLION hits in just two weeks.
