It will take a lot more than being called ‘boring’ for Ed Sheeran to lose his cool as he agrees that he isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.
The 23-year-old artist has called a truce with Isle Of Wight festival boss John Giddings, 61, after he said Sheeran wasn’t lively enough to headline the event. ‘I have no problem with him whatsoever and I hope he doesn’t have a problem with me,’ the Don’t singer told Metro at the Q Awards.
‘I’m not one to hold a grudge – I’ll go and shake his hand and we’ll have a drink.’
And despite the harsh comments, Sheeran, pictured, said he never takes any negativity to heart.
‘Everyone’s entitled to an opinion and fair play to him if he thinks that,’ Sheeran said during the ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in central London.
‘I wasn’t upset, a lot of people think I’m boring – I think other people are boring.
‘It’s fine and that’s a normal thing to think.
He said: ‘I don’t really mind that much but if I’m asked to play something and then he says that, it just kind of confuses me.
‘I mean, there’s never going to be a shortage of festivals for me to play at but there are a shortage of artists to play festivals,’ Sheeran added.
