Eleven people including a 15-year-old girl and a boy of just 12 have been arrested over the rape of a ‘vulnerable’ woman in her own home.
A 43-year-old was rushed to hospital after the ‘appalling attack’ in Anfield, Liverpool, believed to be perpetrated by a group of young males.
Police say they have arrested 11 people in connection with the sexual assault, including a boy aged just 12 and a girl aged 15. The others held are three 15-year-old boys, and three other teenage males aged 16, 18 and 19.
‘This was an appalling attack on a woman in her own home and we would urge anyone who has information, which could help us bring those responsible to justice, to come forward,’ said Detective Superintendent Tim Keelan, of Merseyside police.
‘It is possible that some of those who were in the flat on the day may have talked to people, including friends or family, about what happened and if they have we would urge them to contact us.’
Paramedics called police after going to the property on Ullswater Street at 4.20pm on September 24th and finding the woman had been subjected to a sexual offence.
All 11 suspects have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
