We all shudder at the thought of a 24-month phone contract. By the time you come to upgrade there’s going to be at least seven new iPhone models and yours will look like a Nokia 3310.
But ditching and switching your contracts could be about to get a whole lot easier.
Sharon White, Ofcom’s new chief executive, is to warn the industry that it must improve its service to customers who still find it ‘too difficult’ to change provider and cancel contracts.
She’s mooting plans to introduce a quality line for broadband on all providers, with customers being able to opt out of the deal if it falls below an acceptable level.
