If anyone out there is still on the Atkins diet (anyone?), then this is the perfect burger for you. KFC Korea has just launched a giant-pile-of-meat-burger. Or, as they call it, the Zinger Double Down King.
We’ve got the meat sweats just looking at it.
The burger has dispensed with that bread sandwich nonsense and has replaced the traditional bun with two pieces of fried chicken.
Between those pillows of fried chicken sits a beef patty, topped with slices of bacon and cheese, and finished with BBQ sauce and mayo. It’s a meat feast for the eyes, the soul and, no doubt, the belly.
This new offering is a descendant of KFC’s Double Down, which also featured fried chicken ‘buns’, bacon and cheese, but no beef patty.
Now for some reason, the Double Down was never released in the UK and it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting the Double Down King anytime soon either.
Seriously. What is it about us Brits that makes them think we don’t enjoy eating towers of meat?
However, we imagine it’s pretty easy to recreate at home *buys two Zinger burgers and a McDonald’s Bacon & Cheese Quarter Pounder for lunch*.
