Jose Mourinho has been left with a striker headache ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Manchester United on Sunday – after Loic Remy injured himself while scoring in the club’s Champions League clash against Maribor.
The Frenchman gave The Blues the lead at Stamford Bridge in the 13th minute when he latched onto a superb John Terry pass before cutting inside and driving in a low shot from 20 yards.
Instead of celebrating his fine strike, though, Remy pulled up in pain and had to be taken off minutes later with an apparent groin injury.
If the problem is found to be serious, Mourinho may have to rely on Didier Drogba – who has only just recovered from an ankle injury – for Chelsea’s trip to Old Trafford with Diego Costa still struggling with a hamstring issue.
