Someone has been very, very bad – reports have claimed that a copy of the new 50 Shades novel by E L James has been stolen.
The reported theft has sparked fears that pirate copies could leak online before it goes on sale next week.
E L James’ publishers say they are not going to rush-release the new novel, and it will come out on June 18 as planned.
The new instalment isn’t a sequel – it’s a reworking of the original book, but told from the perspective of billionaire Christian Grey, instead of Anastasia Steele.
A spokeswoman for Penguin Random House said: ‘Grey will be published on June 18 – Christian Grey’s birthday – as planned. We have no further comment to make due to the ongoing police investigation.’
James said she wrote the book after huge demand from fans.
