New ‘Dorothy’ device lets you phone a friend by just clicking your heels together

You know those really terrible Tinder first dates when you wish you could phone a friend and get the hell out of there?

Or those days when the Circle line’s 10 minutes away and you just wish you could click your heels and find yourself at home? – yes, like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz (those ruby slippers would be great too obvs).

Well, thanks to a new device by iStrategyLabs, called funnily enough ‘Dorothy’, all of that could soon be a reality.

The wearable tech prototype involves a small magical white box named ‘Ruby’ which connects to your shoe and communicates via an app to your phone.

You can program it to call you if you’re date’s a disaster (just click your heels three times), or to call three friends to let you know you’re location – this could come in handy if you’re walking home late at night.

And, coming soon, there will be an option to call Uber. So, yes, you will be able to click your heels three times to go home. Dreamy.
