New York Red Bulls showed just how thoughtful and classy they are after making the dreams of a young football fan with a rare genetic disease come true – by allowing her to sign for the MLS club.
The Red Bulls recruited five-year-old Irelyn Maloney – who has Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) which prevents her from playing sports – for one day to help fulfil her ambition of turning out for a football team.
The MLS outfit even gave the New Jersey resident her own locker and a club shirt with the number 31 – that of her favourite player Luis Robles – before allowing Irelyn to take part in a team game with the players.
Watch footage of the five-year-old scoring a goal during her day with the Red Bulls below.
