A heavily pregnant woman who was discovered having sex in a hospital ward was allowed to continue, it has been revealed.
A cleaner at St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol walked in on the woman, who was a patient, and her partner getting intimate in her private room.
However upon reporting what she found, managers told the cleaner there are no rules against couples copulating in hospital rooms, as long as they are not disturbing other patients.
Anyone who has seen friends will know that sex is thought to help induce labour, so maybe the woman in question was just trying to move things along, so to speak.
Amazingly, the hospital even has a policy in which patients are asked to put a ‘do not disturb’ sign on their door if they want to get frisky.
The Sun claimed to have spoken to a hospital source, who said: ‘Other patients on the unit heard the commotion and were upset. The cleaner was utterly shocked.’
A spokesperson from St Michael’s Hospital said: ‘Staff work hard to ensure privacy and dignity is maintained for all patients.
‘Thankfully, we have not received any complaints or concerns in regard to this matter.’
