Liverpool may not have to face Gareth Bale as Real Madrid travel to Anfield in the Champions League, but the Reds’ defence will certainly not be able to rest on their laurels with Cristiano Ronaldo and co in town.
The former Manchester United man has started the season in typically prolific goalscoring form – so much so he’s netted more goals for Real Madrid than the entire Liverpool squad have mustered between them.
In just 12 games for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, Ronaldo has already notched an incredible 19 goals including a whopping four goals against Elche, while Liverpool have found the back of the net 17 times in 11 games this term.
It means the Portuguese alone manages an average of 1.58 goals per game, while Mario Balotelli, Steven Gerrard, Raheem Sterling and co bag just 1.54.
And with the Reds having not kept a clean sheet since the end of August against Tottenham – their only one of the campaign – Ronaldo could take the opportunity to increase his tally even further at Anfield tomorrow night.
