FFS. The size of your hand luggage has just shrunk

June 11, 2015 admin No comments

FFS. The size of your hand luggage has just shrunk Chuck out that spanking new Luis Vuitton (okay fake) bag you got for your holiday – it’s now probably way too big. The size of hand luggage is expected to shrink from 56cm by 45cm by 25cm (ish) to a minuscule 55cm by 35cm by 20cm. On the plus side, this will hopefully eliminate the variety of different size allowances on different airlines. At the moment Easyjet and British Airways allow 56cm by 45cm by 25cm while Virgin Atlantic only allow 56cm by 36cm by 23cm. Ryanair meanwhile only allows 55cm by 40cm by 20cm. Read more →

It’s about to get tonnes easier to switch your mobile phone contract It’s about to get easier to change your contract (Picture: Alamy) We all shudder at the thought of a 24-month phone contract. By the time you come to upgrade there’s going to be at least seven new iPhone models and yours will look like a Nokia 3310.  But ditching and switching your contracts could be about to get a whole lot easier. Schoolboy aged 15 on work experience finds a new planet in our galaxy (Picture Keele University) Many workies end up making the tea, or shuffling a few folders – but a 15-year-old British schoolboy on work experience actually found a new planet. He’s thought to be the youngest person ever to do so. Tom Wagg was on work experience at Keele University when he spotted a tiny ‘dip’ in the light of a star 1,000 light years away using hi-tech computer software. It was the telltale sign of a new planet, orbiting a star in our own galaxy. ‘I’m hugely excited to have a found a new planet, and I’m very impressed that […] Read more →
