The moment an innocent man is freed after 39 years in prison A 53-year-old man has been released from prison after 39 years after being wrongly convicted of the 1975 murder of a money order salesman. Ricky Jackson was found innocent after a key eyewitness recanted his statement saying he was present at the time of the murder of Harold Franks. Mr Jackson is the longest serving prisoner to be fully exonerated of his crimes in United States history according to a lawyer from the Ohio Innocence Project.
