After a week off for the international break, it’s time to get back to domestic league action – and more importantly, fantasy football.
With two weeks having passed since the last round of Premier League fixtures, fantasy managers have had plenty of time to think about reshuffling their sides ahead of the gruelling Christmas schedule.
But if you’ve yet to make your changes ahead of tomorrow’s games, here are three players you may want to consider adding to your team’s ranks.
Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard are the stars of many a fantasy football team at the moment, but if you’re looking for an attacking player providing better value for money, Chelsea’s Oscar is your man. The Brazilian international has been one of the Blues’ star men this term, providing a goal threat from both open play at set-pieces. He’s netted three Premier League goals since the end of September and provided four assists and, taking an increasing amount of responsibility on his young shoulders, could star again as West Brom visit Stamford Bridge tomorrow.
Charlie Austin (QPR)
Charlie Austin is one who has caught the eye in recent weeks. In striker terms, the QPR man is a cheap fantasy football acquisition and he’s enjoying a fine run of form at the moment. The 25-year-old has scored four in his last three outings and he’ll need to be at the top of his game this weekend against a resurgent Newcastle side. But having already netted against Chelsea and Manchester City in his last two games, there’s every reason to take a chance on the Hoops’ hitman.
Victor Wanyama (Southampton)
When picking a Southampton player for your fantasy football team, Graziano Pelle, Nathaniel Clyne and Frazer Forster may be among your top candidates. But fantasy managers shouldn’t look past in-form midfielder Victor Wanyama. The23-year-old is among the best options in terms of value for money at present and has been finding himself on the scoresheet with increasing regularity. Southampton travel to lowly Aston Villa on Monday, so Wanyama has every chance to provide a nice points boost at the end of the weekend’s fixtures.
