While Tottenham’s Erik Lamela was scoring his incredible rabona goal in the Europa League, a player in Brazil was doing this

Erik Lamela left team-mates and fans in awe last night as he scored a spectacular long-range rabona goal in the Europa League.

But while we were all picking our jaws up off the ground, a player in Brazil’s Serie A was stunning fans for a slightly different reason.

Whereas Lamela’s strike couldn’t have been executed more perfectly, this Sport Recife player may need to spend a few more hours on the training ground, after possibly the worst attempt on goal ever seen.

We can only assume he was trying to use the outside of his foot to send the ball flying into Goias’ top corner – only it couldn’t have gone more wrong.

Sunderland’s Santiago Vergini must have wished he’d put in a clearance as good as this at Southampton last week.
